Mr. A. Leon Tillman

Leon Tillman was born in Georgetown, South Carolina in 1936. He is one of 15 children born to the late Benjamin and Ella Tillman. He is a FIRST generation mortician. He completed his formal education there and began studying for the ministry, after a year, he was inducted into the United States Navy and moved to the state of California.

Following his discharge from the Navy in 1960, he enrolled at the Los Angeles Trade and Technical College. There he studied computer science, and received an Associate Degree.

He began working for the Signal Oil and Gas Company and within five years he became a supervisor of the computer operations in the Los Angeles district. In 1970, he resigned from his position at Signal Oil and enrolled in the California College of Mortuary Science. Upon graduating, he began working for the Harrison-Ross in Los Angeles, as a embalmer and funeral director. He resigned from Harrison-Ross in1978 and gained employment at St. Vincent Medical Center, worked weekends at Angelus Funeral Home and furthered his education by attending night school. He received a degree in Business Administration in 1982. In 1983, he moved to Riverside, California to pursue his dream as a mortuary business owner. 

He served as state president of the California Funeral Directors & Embalmer's Association for 11 years. He also served as the district 8 governor of the National Funeral Director's & Embalmer's Association for 11 years as well. He has served on numerous committees in the association. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1972. Mr. Tillman is the father of three (3) adult children, and four (4) grandchildren and (30) great grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys traveling to Alaska and South Carolina for fishing trips. He is a longtime member of Traveler's Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles.  Today, he is joined in service by his daughter, Ms. LaTanya C. Tillman who is also a licensed funeral director & also his granddaughter, Ashlynne C. McNeil Tillman.

La Tanya has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 2007. She's a 1981 Graduate of P. Banning High School in Wilmington, Ca,  1986 grad. of Voorhees College, Denmark South Carolina.  She is also a Notary Public for the State of CA.

La Tanya is a faithful member of Amos Temple CME Church in Riverside, Ca, but also has membership at Bethel AME Church in Georgetown, South Carolina.

She also enjoys Event Planning, which she does for her personal enjoyment as well as, for the mortuary and her church.

She is a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a member of the local chapter of the NAACP.

In her spare time, she enjoying entertaining and spending time with family and friends.

Ashlynne Cherise McNeil-Tillman

1. Ashlynne has been working in the funeral industry since the age of 16 years old.  She is a graduate of Riverside Polytechnic High School in Riverside Ca,  South Carolina State University in Orangeburg SC, and Life University College of Chiropractic in Marietta GA.  She obtained her B.S in Biology in 2012 & her M.S in Sports Health Science in 2016.  Ashlynne specializes in Embalming, Funeral Directing, Filing & processing death certificates, arrangement counseling, and office management.  She is the Vice President of the funeral home and the granddaughter of the CEO & Founder, Mr. A Leon Tillman.   Ashlynne is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Inc.
2. In Her spare time, Ashlynne enjoys attending church at Allen Chapel AME, of Riverside CA under the leadership of Pastor Barry Settle, & also traveling and creating new experiences with her 4 year old son Candler Koa Tillman.
