Obituary:
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Peggy Lee Abanilla, who went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2026, in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 67.
Peggy was born on January 16, 1959, in Jacksonville, Florida. She grew into a woman of strength, grace, and deep compassion, becoming the beloved matriarch of a large and devoted family. Her presence was steady and comforting, and her love held generations together. She was truly loving, caring, and selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own.
An educator by profession and by heart, Peggy devoted her life to teaching and uplifting others. She was once filled with life, joy, and laughter, and her passion for learning and service left a lasting impression on her students, colleagues, and family alike.
She is now reunited in the heavens with her beloved husband, Rolando Olarte Abanilla Sr., where they share eternal peace.
Peggy is survived by her seven children—four sons and three daughters—twenty‑two grandchildren, and four great‑grandchildren, all of whom will continue to honor her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family.
Services will be held on April 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Tillman’s, located at 2874 Tenth Street, Riverside, California 92507.
Interment will follow in the Riverside National Cemetery.
Peggy Lee Abanilla will be profoundly missed and forever remembered for the love she gave so freely and the family she so beautifully nurtured.
