Marcellus Shepard Obituary

Marcellus Mot Shepard was born June 23, 1932, in Long Branch, Texas to MC Shepard and Rozilla. He was the 3rd born of 5 children. Marcellus received his education from Carthage Texas Elementary School and graduated from Carthage High School.

Marcellus accepted Christ at an early age. He fellowshipped with Shady Grove Baptist Church under the pastoralship of Pastor Frank Simpson. Marcellus found his church home First Missionary Baptist Church in Banning, CA under the leadership of Pastor Damon Allen.

Marcellus met Willie Mae Pitts in the early 60s and the couple got married. They had one daughter together Lucy M. Pitts. Marcellus and Willie would later resolve their marriage. Marcellus would later met Ora Lee Kimbrough and the happy couple got married and they became a blended family with Shirlene Anderson.

Marcellus was a Carpet Installer and was part of the Laborers Union Local where he finally retired from.

Marcellus was very loving, with a kind heart that was always willing to give. He had a great sense of humor with playing jokes on you and always had a smile that could light up a room. Marcellus had a love for children and loved to catch a game of dominoes with his friends and family.

Marcellus loved to attend family gatherings and in his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports on his television such as football (Rams) and basketball (Lakers).

Marcellus was a loud, loving, kind giving man who always had a smile. Children will remember him for his smile, hugs and always giving gifts of candy and money. He was even known to even go against their parent’s wishes and find away to sneak it to them.
