Joetta Williams

January 19, 1944-July 27, 2025

With full hearts we celebrate the life of Joetta Williams’ devoted daughter, wife & mother.   Joetta peacefully transitioned on June 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, faith & incredible generosity.

Joetta was born in Marshall, TX on January 19, 1944, to Vertis & Eula Mae Johnson (both deceased).  Joetta attended elementary school, junior high & high school in Marshall, TX.  After graduation Joetta attended technical college where she received her certificate of completion, eventually being licensed in Cosmetology in the state of Texas.

Joetta later relocated to Los Angeles in 1966 to join her mother & bonus dad (Eula & Leon Williams (both deceased).  Joetta landed her first job with a catering company in downtown Los Angeles.  This is where she began her love of baking & cooking a multitude of various cuisine meals.  In 1967 Joetta begin a career with Pacific Bell (AT&T) where she became a telecommunications Manager.  She remained with this company for 29 years, before retiring in 1996.  After retirement, Joetta took on a part-time position with Pomona Valley Medical Center in the Business Services Imaging Department as an Administrative Assistant, second retirement in 2006.

In 1968 Joetta met the love of her life, Earl Williams (deceased), they were married in 1969.  They welcomed their beloved daughter Karen to this union.  Karen(deceased) became their bright shining star.  Joetta loved God with all her heart.  Joetta joined Strangers Rest Missionary Baptist Church in our neighborhood. After the church moved to a new location, she remained faithful under the Pastoral leadership Pastor Burns, Pastor Williams and current Pastor Harold L. Mitchell. Joetta held several positions during her membership.  Several years ago, her failing health would not allow her to drive into LA anymore.

She leaves to celebrate her legacy.

Sisters; Linda (Ralph), Rochelle & Hannah.  Brothers; Romeo (deceased), Ronald (deceased, Albert (deceased) & Michael Williams (Renee).  Dedicated In-Laws; Katherine Williams (mother-in-law deceased) Curtis (Beverly), Arthur (Joyce) both deceased, Eleanor, Anthony (Alfreda), Flonnie, Althia, Elnora (Kenneth) & Gertha Williams. Her bonus children; Tiffany Darden (Georgia), LaNisha Williams, Ralinda Jones, Michael Williams II & Omar Pugh.  NIECES; Barbara, Erica, Danita, Christina, Crystal, Lashawn, Tamika, Mikiesha & Rayniece.  NEPHEWS; Darnell, Craig, Eric, Nathaniel, Anthony, Raymond (deceased) Christopher, Derrick, Aaron, Garrett, Jeremy (deceased) & Rodney

Cousins like sisters, Ruby Holmes & Cynthis Staley.  Three lifelong friends; Lois Rosby, Beverley Harris & Victoria Jiles.  Her two neighbors Carol & Margo, thanks for looking out for our sister.  A host of nieces, nephews, family & friends too numerous to mention.
