Clinton Jamison Obituary

Clinton “CJ” Jamison III, 44, answered God’s call peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was born on February 26, 1982, to Clinton Jamison Jr. and Vicki Bradshaw Jamison. CJ was a man who loved deeply — his children, his family, his friends, and above all, God. His humor, energy, and unmistakable spirit brought joy wherever he went, and the love he gave will live on through all who knew him.

CJ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clinton Sr. and Barbara Jamison, and Wilburn and Bobbie Bradshaw.

CJ graduated with honors from Olathe North High School and later attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, where he earned both academic and track scholarships. A gifted student and natural leader from an early age, CJ excelled academically and was recognized among the highest-performing students in the state of Kansas. He participated in multiple gifted academic programs throughout his childhood. As an athlete — affectionately known as “Kobe Jamison” — CJ earned All–Big 12 Conference honors in the Long Jump, Triple Jump, and the 400-meter relay.

CJ possessed an infectious smile and unforgettable laugh. You always knew when CJ was present because laughter was never far behind. He had a unique gift for easing even the most serious moments with perfectly timed humor — often saying exactly what everyone else was thinking. While known for his wit, CJ also carried a quiet strength and stoicism that drew people to him. Leadership came naturally to him, whether in the classroom, on the track, in ministry, or among friends.

CJ’s foundation was rooted in faith. He was raised at Mason Temple Church of God in Christ under Bishop William H. McDonald and later became a charter member of New Hope Church of God in Christ in Olathe, Kansas, under Superintendent Terry L. Bradshaw. There, CJ served faithfully as a Sunday School scholar, choir member, youth department worker, and officer within the college outreach ministry. He traveled nationally and internationally ministering to young people in Washington, D.C., England, and the Dominican Republic. As a member and leader with Bread for the World, CJ helped lead street ministry efforts and athletic outreach events. Fluent in Spanish, he often guided ministry teams abroad, helping keep their mission focused and impactful.

Later in life, CJ became a faithful member of TrueVine Pentecostal Church in Murrieta, California. During this season, he experienced renewed passion and spiritual growth, recently completing the NextSteps course of study through the School of Discipleship Ministry. CJ remained a shining light of faith, encouragement, and compassion to all who crossed his path.

During his marriage to Ivelisse Altoro, CJ was blessed with two beloved children, Carlos and Selena, who became the greatest joys of his life. He was a devoted and intentional father who worked tirelessly to give his children meaningful experiences and cherished memories. Whether attending Dodgers, Chiefs, Lakers, or Golden State Warriors games, CJ made sure Carlos and Selena were always by his side. He had the privilege of coaching Carlos in basketball and baseball and coaching Selena in basketball, cherishing every moment spent encouraging and guiding them. CJ carried a deep desire to see his children surpass him in every area of life.

CJ had a special heart for children. Following his graduation from Kansas State University, he began his professional career as a fourth-grade teacher at Ogden Elementary School in Ogden, Kansas, where he was deeply loved by students and colleagues alike. After several years in education, CJ followed in his father’s footsteps and entered the insurance and financial services industry, where he worked faithfully for more than twenty years. Throughout his career, he served on numerous professional boards and remained actively involved in community and industry organizations throughout Southern California.

CJ quietly fell asleep surrounded by family and friends, prepared to meet the Lord. Among his final words were, “I’m going to see y’all up there… I ain’t scared… God told me to have peace.”

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Clinton and Vicki Jamison; his brothers, Stan and Desmond; his children, Carlos and Selena; and a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever touched by his presence.

Though our hearts are heavy, we do not grieve as those without hope. We rejoice in the assurance that CJ’s faith has become sight and that he now rests safely in the presence of the Lord he loved and served.
