Arthur M Ford, 86, of Riverside, California, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, surrounded by his wife and family members at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Riverside, California.
Born on April 5, 1939, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Livenia Broussard and Emmitt Ford. Arthur was the eldest of seven siblings—five brothers and one sister. He was a graduate of McClymond HS, Oakland CA, class of 1958. After his family moved to Riverside, he joined the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge in December 1965. He earned his Associate in Arts from Riverside City College and built a dedicated career at Riverside Cement (TXI) from 1965 to 1998.
Arthur was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and uncle. Known for his hardworking nature, sense of humor, and competitive spirit, anyone who knew Arthur, knows he was an avid golfer. A longtime member of the Inland Empire Golf and Mexican American Golf Association. Many times after a long day's work he would tee off at the local golf course with his golf mates. Saturday was no exception.
He relished playing card and board games with friends and family. This is where you got to see his competitive, and fun nature. He tried to put on a poker face, but couldn’t stop talking smack to be convincing.
Arthur and Lois enjoyed going on cruises. One of his favorite things to do at dinner, was to see how many dishes he could eat off the dinner menu each night!
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Livenia Broussard and Emmitt Ford Sr.; his sister, Marian Singleton; brother, Emmitt Ford Jr.; and stepdaughter, Leslie Gleen. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Lois Marie Ford, they were married August 2, 1986; his sons, Arthur “Ziggie” Ford (Bethany) and their son DJ; Matthew Keith Ford and daughter Matlyn; his stepson, Aaron Matthew Gleen (Jaclyn)
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 7, 2026, at 12:45 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
